With effect from 1 January 2019, Lehmann&Voss&Co. took over the business operations of the Osthoff Omega Group, based in Norderstedt near Hamburg, Germany. This acquisition increases LuV’s portfolio in the field of functional and lightweight fillers, such as hollow and solid spheres, ceramic foams, reinforcing fillers, etc. With F.A.R. Polymers, the Italian polymer manufacturer, LuV has confirmed an exclusive distributionship about polymer powders. This includes the product group Neolith as well as the distribution rights for Germany and the UK. The polymer powders are on vinyl copolymer basis and can be used in a variety of applications such as tile adhesives, plaster, mortars or exterior insulation & finishing systems.

Biesterfeld announced that it is expanding its long-term partnership with South Korean manufacturer Songwon. Building on the partners' successful collaboration in the distribution of stabilisers, UV protection agents and UV initiators for plastics and coatings, the portfolio will now be expanded to include the new functional monomers product group. Biesterfeld will be responsible for the European distribution of approximately 20 new products consisting of bisphenol-based monomers and monomers based on diacid anhydrides and dicyclopentadiene-phenol adducts (DCPD) for the production and modification of bonding agents.

The chemical manufacturer Birch Chemicals has announced that Behn Meyer Europe GmbH will distribute its Innovox calcium oxide and Innovoh calcium hydroxide products in Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland. The expansion will see Europe’s core markets gain greater access to Innovox calcium oxide, a pioneering desiccant used in a wide variety of rubber products, along with Innovoh calcium hydroxide, which can be used as an activator in FKM blends.

The Jordan Company has completed the acquisition of Polymer Solutions Group’s Polymer Additives division from Arsenal Capital Partners. PSG is a provider of homogenising agents, process aids, dispersions, and release agents for the rubber, plastic, and engineered wood industries globally. Among the products in PSG’s portfolio are SureMix Performance Process Aids for silica rubber compounding. PSG’s Functional Materials Division will remain with Arsenal. PSG’s Polymer Additives division is headquartered in Cleveland, OH, USA.

Biesterfeld Spezialchemie has acquired the Norwegian distribution company Lindberg & Lund Group with its headquarters in Vestby/Oslo. It focuses on the technical distribution of raw materials and formulated products from areas such as adhesives, composites, electronics, oil/gas, and lubricants. The company, which is managed by its owners, was founded in 1984 and has branches in Sweden and Finland. Lindberg & Lund employs a total of 50 people in application technology, sales, administration and warehousing.

The Coating Additives Business Line of Evonik has extended its existing partnership with international specialty chemicals distributor Safic-Alcan regarding the Tego additives products. Safic-Alcan SAS and Safic-Alcan Necarbo B.V. will be provided with the complete coating additives range of Evonik allowing customers to be supplied by a single distributor in France and the BeNeLux region. In addition, the agreement also extends to Safic-Alcan UK for the distribution of the liquid additives in the UK and Ireland.
