Gerald Steinhoff has been appointed as new General Manager of the Hübner Group. He will join Helge Förster (Managing Director, Mobility business segment) and Ingolf Cedra (Managing Director, Material Solutions and Photonics business segments) in the top management team of the global supplier of gangway systems for buses and railway vehicles. Steinhoff will assume responsibility for the financial and administrative areas of the group.

Covestro CEO Dr. Markus Steilemann is the new President of PlasticsEurope, the association of plastics manufacturers in Europe. Steilemann was appointed to the position on 24 June 2020 for three years. He succeeds Javier Constante of Dow Chemical, who oversaw a fundamental reorganisation of PlasticsEurope.

Dr. Tammo Boinowitz (53) will become managing director of BYK-Chemie GmbH based in Wesel as of 1 January 2021. After a two-month training and transitional phase, he will also become the President of BYK, the largest division of the specialty chemicals group Altana. He succeeds Dr. Christoph Schlünken, who has headed the division on an interim basis since October of last year in parallel with his responsibilities on Altana’s Management Board.

Kristel Ons has been appointed as the incoming Secretary General of Feica, the Association of the European Adhesive & Sealant Industry, with effect from 15 June 2020. She succeeds Philip Bruce, Director of PJB Chemical Consulting Ltd, as Secretary General. Bruce took charge of Feica four and a half years ago, after which the association went from strength to strength, with a healthy strategy and increased membership.

Frederique van Baarle will take over as head of the High Performance Materials business unit at speciality chemicals company Lanxess with effect from 1 June 2020. The business unit's portfolio mainly comprises plastics for the automotive and electronics industries. The Dutch native is currently heading the Global Procurement and Logistics group function. Van Baarle succeeds Michael Zobel, who will take over as head of the Lanxess subsidiary Saltigo on 1 June 2020.
