Launch of new ALIPA website
ALIPA, the European Aliphatic Isocyanate Producers Association, has launched its new website www.alipa.org on April 1st 2005. ALIPA was formed in 2001 to further research and communicate information about the health, safety and environmental aspects of aliphatic isocyanates and to develop and communicate “One Voice” positions to relevant stakeholders. Aliphatic isocyanates are widely used, because of their unique properties, in high quality protective and decorative coating systems. They are used in automotive basecoats, clearcoats and refinish applications, in coating systems for large vehicles and in ships and aircraft and many other industrial applications. They are also used in modern adhesive systems and specialty elastomers. The new website carries a large quantity of information in an easy to navigate structure. The content includes: • Health, Safety and Environmental information designed to promote the safe use of these substances amongst large and small users. • Descriptions of the various product families based on HDI, IPDI and H12MDI. • Detailed descriptions with numerous examples of the wide-ranging applications for these isocyanates • Links including those of both isocyanate and more general associations plus the sites of ALIPA members. ALIPA is a sector group of Cefic, the European Chemical Industry Council, and its members are BASF, Bayer MaterialScience, Degussa and Rhodia Performance Coatings & Services.
