LuV: Saving weight with new ultrafine hollow microspheres
Lehmann&Voss&Co. expands its existing portfolio of hollow microspheres with a new grade of ultrafine particle size under the brand Tri-Spheres 45XS Ultra. The silica-based multicellular hollow spheres serve as functional lightweight fillers and are characterised by high thermal and mechanical resistance as well as bright colour. They can be used in a wide range of applications to reduce density and weight and to optimise acoustic and thermal insulation.
In paints and coatings the products are used as raw material in many applications such as powder coatings, printing inks, facade paints, pouring compounds, interlayers and insulation materials. In building materials the hollow microspheres are the products of choice for achieving outstanding properties in sound and thermal insulation. They are non-combustible and, as a naturally occurring raw material, offer a sustainable alternative to conventional building materials. And finally in plastics applications Tri-Spheres are used as raw material in many flexible applications such as moulding, extrusion, composites and automotive.
