Kraiburg TPE is presenting a new series of compounds with high content of recycled materials. With at least a 20 % proportion of postindustrial recycled materials, these compounds meet the OEMs’ high requirements and contribute to building a circular plastics economy. The company said that it has made intensive efforts to understand the future requirements of European OEMs. As a result it is now presenting the new RC/UV series targeted to meet the high requirements for OEMs’ automotive exteriors such as weathering resistance and a high surface quality, using a proportion of postindustrial recycled materials ranging from a minimum of 20 % to a maximum of 40 %. These product solutions will enable suppliers to replace current components with recycled materials-based thermoplastic elastomers.

With its high aspect ratio, it is proven to be the most conductive multi-walled CNT product in the company’s portfolio, said Cabot. The Enermax 6 carbon nanotube series can enhance battery performance at lower loadings enabling a higher energy density of battery.

The concept includes Covestro polyurethane-based Baymedix raw materials for adhesives and foams, as well as Platilon TPU films. accensors has developed the sensor system and electronic modules.

The Italian compounder Marfran teamed up with injection molding machinery supplier Negri Bossi for the production of face masks. Negri Bossi coordinated a pool of companies including Marfran and started in less than five weeks the production of reusable masks, sterilisable with interchangeable filter. The mask is entirely made of TPE. The Marfran.Med compounds were donated for this project by Marfran.

The purpose of the PolySLS project was to develop and test a new styrene based polymer compound for Selective Laser Sintering (SLS). A particular focus of the project was on researching energy and material requirements. Partners in the project were Ineos Styrolution, the Kunststoffzentrum (SKZ-KFE gGmbH) and the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany.
