Hennecke at the ACMA Composites 2011 in Florida

According to the German company Hennecke GmbH, its Polyurethane Composite Spray-Molding (PUR-CSM) technology product range is well-known to PU processors all over the world. But for the company's composite experts this is no reason not to continue expanding the portfolio, e. g. with Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) technology that allows high-performance lightweight parts to be produced fast, efficiently, and in high volumes. ACMA Composites 2011 in Fort Lauderdale, FL, USA, was the right occasion for the machinery and plant manufacturer to present this technology and further CSM process variants.

After a successful premiere at the ACMA trade fair last year, Hennecke also took part in America's leading composites exhibition in 2011. Its presentation focused on its state-of-the-art spray mixhead portfolio as well as on advanced sample parts for the automotive and sanitary sectors. Hennecke says these attracted a great deal of interest from many specialist visitors, not least because the use of PUR-CSM technology in the reinforcement of bathtubs and shower trays brings real added value to the end customer. Important keywords in this context are: optimal thermal insulation, improved acoustic characteristics and the complete elimination of solvents.

Furthermore, the polyurethane experts gave a first insight into a new engineering approach that responds to the growing requirements regarding efficiency and environment in the automotive sector – the manufacture of fiber-reinforced structural components in a high-pressure RTM process (HP-RTM). In contrast to the classical RTM process this new technology enables the reactive mix to be quickly injected into the cavity. This means that curing times are very short and this guarantees optimized cycle times for the whole process, allowing even high numbers to be produced in an appropriate way.
