Zachert appointed as new CEO of Lanxess

Lanxess AG has announced that the Supervisory Board of the company has resolved to end by mutual agreement the appointment of Axel C. Heitmann as Member and Chairman of the Board of Management, effective 28 February 2014. Matthias Zachert has been appointed as his successor. Zachert, former CFO of Lanxess, and currently CFO of Merck KGaA in Darmstadt, Germany, will take over as Chairman of the Board of Management on 1 April 2014.

Grunert appointed as new President of Isopa

At the General Assembly of Isopa on 10 December 2013, Frank Grunert of Bayer MaterialScience has been confirmed as President of the industry association. He took over this position first on an interim basis, effective 1 October 2013, after Uwe Hartwig of BASF has receded as previous President of Isopa.
