Aliphatic diamine chain extender

The product is based on a hindered aliphatic amine and is also designed for hardening/crosslinking epoxy resins being used in filament winding and resin infusion. According to the company, HXA CE‑425 helps to adjust formulations to customer’s needs by slowing down the reaction rate in comparison to common primary aliphatic amines and to improve the processing characteristics of standard systems. The product is said to exhibit advantages due to its low vapour pressure and low viscosity and it is non-discolouring.

HXA CE‑425 systems will be safer, more robust and tougher in performance, says the company. They provide faster film property development and green strength (similar to aromatic polyureas), better thermal resistance, can be blended with various amine systems, impart good UV as well as colour stability, and allow better adhesion, flow, levelling and fibre penetration. Typical application areas are light stable OEM polyurea elastomeric coatings, light stable top coats, and light stable polyurethane elastomers.
