Haltermann exhibits at CPI Polyurethanes Technical Conference

The German company Haltermann GmbH, a leading producer in Europe of hydrocarbon-based specialities and hydrocarbon solvents, has exhibited as part of the newly formed HCS Group at the CPI Polyurethanes Technical Conference from 23 – 25 September 2013 in Phoenix, AZ, USA.

Haltermann’s exhibit at the CPI conference focused on using its pentanes as blowing agents in polyurethane foams for the appliance, construction, and pipe insulation industries. “We are very pleased with our pentane business,” said Henrik Krüpper, Managing Director at Haltermann. “We are seeing a solid, good growth rate for pentanes, partially driven by the shift towards environmentally friendly blowing agents in the American market.” Krüpper is also responsible for the Performance Hydrocarbons business segment on the Executive Committee of HCS Group.

HCS Group was created in April 2013 from the merger of Haltermann GmbH with Petrochem Carless Ltd (PCL), UK, in partnership with the private equity firm H.I.G. Capital (Europe). On 1 September 2013, HCS Group established a new business segment dedicated to Performance Hydrocarbons that includes specialities, performance fuels, and pentanes.

The HCS Group, managed by Haltermann’s CEO Dr. Uwe Nickel, brings together an expanded range of solutions. Both Haltermann and PCL offer diversification in speciality hydrocarbons, and through the HCS Group benefit from common technology and raw material markets. With the addition of PCL to the HCS Group, Haltermann gains a foothold office in Houston, TX, USA, sharing PCL’s long-established office there.
