IDSA to organise Design Center pavilion and conference at NPE2015

In an agreement between the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association, IDSA will organise a conference and “IDSA Design Center” pavilion at NPE2015, it was announced by SPI, which produces the triennial NPE.

On 30 September 2014, Huntsman Corporation announced that it has received final clearance and approval from the European Commission to acquire the Performance Additives and Titanium Dioxide businesses of Rockwood Holdings, Inc. Following the approval, the acquisition was completed on 1 October 2014.

Growth for Italian import/exports of plastics and rubber machinery

Assocomaplast, the Italian trade association, belonging to Confindustria, which groups to-gether some 160 machinery manufacturers, has published its latest analysis of the ISTAT fig-ures for Italian foreign trade for the first half of this year. According to the association these figures show a rise in import-exports of rubber and plastics equipment, compared to January-June 2013.

Bayer increases TPU production in India

Bayer MaterialScience announced plans to increase its TPU production capacities in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu India. With the addition of a second line, the annual capacity of the site will increase to 6,000 t from its current capacity of 2,500 t. The installation is expected to be completed by the 2nd quarter 2015.

Bayer plans to separate MaterialScience unit

Bayer AG has announced its plans to divest the MaterialScience business. The company said it wants to focus on life science with its business units HealthCare and CropScience.
