Dr. Dieter Freitag has passed away
After leaving Bayer in 2001, he joined Triton Systems, where as Chief Technology Officer he was responsible for polymer technologies. He held or jointly held more than 400 patents (including many in the USA) that resulted in the development of new products in the field of engineering thermoplastics.
These include important applications such as the compact disc (CD) and multiwall plastic sheets, which are used in greenhouses around the world, for example. He also developed the speciality polycarbonate Apec HT, a material that is resistant to heat and widely used in automotive lighting and medical equipment.
