Pack new Head of Evonik’s Performance Polymers business unit

Effective from 1 June 2014, Dr. Michael Pack has become Head of Evonik Industries’ Performance Polymers business unit. He succeeds Gregor Hetzke, who has led the business unit since 2008. Hetzke assumed leadership of Evonik’s Advanced Intermediates business unit on the same day.

Airia announces new managing committee for 2014 – 2015

The All India Rubber Industries Association (Airia) has constituted its new Managing Committee for the year 2014 – 2015: Mohinder Gupta, Managing Director of Vinko Auto Industries Ltd., has been nominated as the new President of Airia, the apex body for the rubber industries in India.

Blümich honoured with “Harold Herzlich Distinguished Technology Achievement Award”

Prof. Dr. Bernhard Blümich, chair of macromolecular chemistry at RWTH Aachen University in Aachen, Germany, has been recognised with the “Harold Herzlich Distinguished Technology Achievement Award” on 10 September 2014 during the tyre exhibition and conference ITEC 2014 in Akron, OH, USA.

Lorig new CEO of CQLT SaarGummi Group

Michael Lorig, 46, is the new CEO of CQLT SaarGummi Technologies S.à r.l., effective from 1 September 2014. He succeeds Larry Johnson, who will be responsible for the company’s business in North and South America. Johnson remains a member of the group’s management board.

Gerd Liebig is leaving Engel

Gerd Liebig, Group Marketing Director at Engel Austria, is leaving the company. He departs at his own request in order to take up a new challenge, says Engel.

Mark Crist was named new Senior Vice President, President of Distribution and Kurt Schuering was appointed as new Vice President, Global Key Account Management at PolyOne.

Rzepka new President and CEO at A. Schulman

Bernard Rzepka, 54, was named new President and Chief Executive Officer of A. Schulman, effective from 1 January 2015. He will replace Joseph M. Gingo, 69, who served the company for seven yeas in this position and who will retire on 31 December 2014.

Dr. Dieter Freitag has passed away

Dr. Dieter Freitag, who formerly served as Head of Research for the Plastics Business Group and Head of Materials Research at Bayer Central Research, has passed away at the age of 74. Freitag began his professional career in 1967 with Bayer AG, where he worked for over 30 years in the R+D of polymer technologies.

Lindner new President of DuPont Performance Polymers

DuPont has named Patrick Lindner as President of its Performance Polymers business, effective from 1 March 2014. He succeeds Diane Gulyas, who retired in April 2014 following 36 years of service to the company. Lindner has served in a diverse range of business and technology leadership positions after starting with DuPont as a chemist in 1996.

IISRP’s Managing Director and CEO to retire

James L. McGraw, Managing Director and CEO of the International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers (IISRP), has announced his plans to retire at the end of the institute’s current fiscal year ending 30 June 2015. McGraw, a 1997 veteran of the IISRP, has been in the synthetic rubber industry since 1975 when he joined American Synthetic Rubber Corporation.

Friederichs new Editor-in-Chief of PU Magazine

Dr. Wolfgang Friederichs, 58, has taken up responsibility as new Editor-in-Chief of PU Magazine International and the German-language PU Magazin, publications of Dr. Gupta Verlag.

Zachert appointed as new CEO of Lanxess

Lanxess AG has announced that the Supervisory Board of the company has resolved to end by mutual agreement the appointment of Axel C. Heitmann as Member and Chairman of the Board of Management, effective 28 February 2014. Matthias Zachert has been appointed as his successor. Zachert, former CFO of Lanxess, and currently CFO of Merck KGaA in Darmstadt, Germany, will take over as Chairman of the Board of Management on 1 April 2014.
