RimStar-series mixing and metering machines from KraussMaffei are ideally suited to processing epoxy resin, PU and polyamides. The machine has been adapted for the T-RTM process and the extremely low-viscous material used. The fibre-reinforced visible components for automotive construction, which were made using the surface RTM process, can be painted immediately and mass produced cost-effectively. The FiberForm process, a combination of injection moulding and thermoforming with composite sheets, enables multi-functional, lightweight structural components to be mass manufactured.

Purity Scanner ensures 100 % pellet inspection

Sikora has launched the Purity Scanner, a system for the 100 % online inspection and sorting of pellets. The intelligent application of X-ray technology with an optical system allows the detection of impurities of 50 µm. Contaminated pellets are reliably sorted out. The inspection allows the detection of organic and metallic contaminations inside the pellet as well as on the pellet surface, using a special combination of X-ray technology and an optical system. The company says the combination of both technologies is unique and is exceeding previous solutions on the market. Even non-transparent materials can be detected.
