Zeon continues to grow with facility expansion and new Zetpol EP polymers

Zetpol EP has been added to Zeon Chemicals' HNBR product line. Featuring low viscosity and good process safety, these new elastomers are designed to improve and simplify processing in injection moulding applications, reducing operating costs without compromising the performance of the finished parts, according to the company.

Created specifically to aid in the injection moulding of complex parts, the new Zetpol EP HNBR family is said to provide a substantial improvement in mould flow and a superior safety margin against scorch to help eliminate knit lines and part delamination. Like standard Zetpol grades, Zetpol EP elastomers are proven to achieve an excellent balance of heat and environmental resistance as well as outstanding dynamic properties, says the company.

To keep up with growing demand for Zetpol HNBR, Zeon Chemicals recently announced a further expansion of the Houston, TX, USA, manufacturing facility that produces the high-performance elastomer. The expansion, scheduled to be operational in the first quarter of 2012, will increase the plant’s Zetpol production by 25 %.
