Ube completes butadiene rubber expansion at Chiba

Ube Industries said in May 2014 that it has completed construction on a 16,000 t/y expansion of its synthetic rubber manufacturing facilities at its Chiba petrochemical complex in Japan.

In July 2010, Ube had announced a JPY 1.4 billion expansion project at Chiba that would increase butadiene rubber capacity to 110,000 t/y from 95,000 t/y. The project was expected to come online in August 2012.
