NPE2012 with extensive educational program

SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association has announced the agenda for its Business of Plastics Conference, a key part of the content-rich educational program to be co-located with the NPE2012 international plastics exposition.

NPE2012 will take place April 1-5 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. SPI, which produces the triennial NPE, is one of three organizations that will provide attendees with the opportunity to gain new technical and business insight in addition to the discoveries to be made on the exhibit floor. The conferences organized by the three partner groups will constitute the most extensive educational program available at a plastics show, according to Gene Sanders, SPI’s senior vice president of trade shows and conferences.

  • SPE ANTEC 2012
The Society of Plastics Engineers’ annual ANTEC is the world’s largest plastics technical conference. The 201l edition included more than 700 presentations, with technical papers consisting of original content reviewed by industry peers. An attached table shows the session topics for which SPE has solicited presentations for ANTEC 2012.
    Information is available online at:
    www.4spe.org.
  • Latin American Seminar (in Spanish)
The producer of this conference, whose title in English is Trends, Opportunities and Technologies in the Business of Plastics, will be Carvajal Información B2B, publisher of Tecnologia del Plastico, Conversión, and El Empaque magazines. The conference will address three topics:
    • Specialty or High-Value Markets,
    • Biopolymers and Sustainability,
    • Rigid and Flexible Packaging.
A bilingual presentation of details on the conference is available online at:

“The timely topics of bioplastics and sustainability will receive special attention in sessions of all three conferences, and the wealth of other technical and business subjects covered by the NPE2012 educational program will address the interests of plastics professionals from across the industry,” said Sanders. “The three educational programs, coupled with the greatest plastics exposition in the Americas, will make NPE2012 the largest plastics technology exchange in the world.”

All educational sessions will be available for a fee that is payable in the process of registering for NPE2012 at www.npe.org.
