CTS inaugurates automotive specialty compounds plant in China

On 16 April 2012 French compounder Coussin has officially inaugurated its new production plant in Changsu, China. CTS Automotive Compounds (Changsu) Ltd. will produce Marvyflo PVC and Téfabloc TPE materials that have been successfully marketed in Asia for more than 10 years.

Téfabloc TPEs are used in airbag covers, sealing applications, cables and interior parts. The compounds have a lower density than traditional rubber solutions like EPDM. In some specific parts, the weight reduction is more than 30 %. The Marvyflo free flowing powder compounds are a reference material for slush molding of dashboards and door panels, as well as other interior surfaces. The new developed "lightweight Marvyflo" allows for a weight reduction of up to 10 % of the dashboard skins, said the company.
