Tosoh increases CSM capacity in Nanyo
This expansion brings the company’s total annual CSM capacity to 9,500 t at its main, Nanyo Complex manufacturing facility, located in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. The company expects market demand for CSM to remain firm, with sales of between 70 – 80 % abroad. Demand is expected to grow especially for automobile related applications in Asia. Since 2010 and the completion of its capacity expansion from 4,000 to 8,500 t/y, the company’s production lines have run at full capacity, says Tosoh.
Toso-CSM can easily be pigmented and is resistant to ozone, weather, oil, and chemicals. It is used in automobile and industrial hoses, adhesives and coatings, escalator railings, linings for electrical and mechanical products, and consumer products such as raincoats and boats.
