Bridgestone to stop precision office equipment components production in Shenzhen

Bridgestone announced that it will reorganise the group's manufacturing operations in the Huanan region of China in order to establish a more efficient manufacturing system for the production of its precision office equipment products.

Bridgestone-Electro-Materials (Shenzhen) Ltd. (BEMSZ), which manufactures precision office equipment components in the Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, will discontinue production in the first half of 2014. BEMSZ employs approximately 465 people.

Moving forward, production of precision office equipment components in China will take place at the group's Bridgestone (Kaiping) Diversified Products Co., Ltd. (BSKD) manufacturing facility in Kaiping, Guangdong Province. BSKD is a producer of foam rubber, polyurethane foam products as well as electronic precision parts and employs approximately 60 people.
