Krahn Chemie to distribute carbon fibres from Toho Tenax Europe

Distributor Krahn Chemie GmbH, based in Hamburg, will begin marketing chopped and milled carbon fibres from Toho Tenax Europe GmbH throughout Europe effective immediately.

The Tenax products feature high strength and tensile modulus at low density. The short fibres are primarily used in thermoplastic resins, where they enhance electrical conductivity and mechanical performance. Tenax chopped fibres are available in various finishes in cut lengths of 3 – 25 mm. The milled fibres are supplied as fine powder without any preparation. The main use of the short fibres is in technical plastics, such as ABS, SAN, PA 6, PA 66, PA 12, PBT, and POM, and high-temperature thermoplastic resins such as PEEK, PPA, PES, PEI, and POM. The variety of different finishes supplied also means that these fibres can be used in fibre-reinforced thermosetting plastics and in water-based processes.
