BASF to increases prices

With immediate effect, or as existing contracts permit, BASF is increasing the prices of the polyalcohols neopentylglycol (NPG), trimethylolpropane (TMP), 1,6-hexanediol (HDO), epsilon-caprolactone (CLO) as well as for butanediol and it derivatives in Europe.

  • Neopentylglycol (NPG):                                    +100 EUR/t
  • Trimethylolpropane (TMP):                               +100 EUR/t
  • 1,6-Hexanediol (HDO):                                    +200 EUR/t
  • Epsilon-Caprolactone (CLO):                            +200 EUR/t

 

  • 1,4-Butanediol (BDO)                                     +120 EUR/t
  • Tetrahydrofuran (THF)                                   +120 EUR/t
  • Polytetramethylene ether glycol (PolyTHF)
    for non-fibre applications                               +120 EUR/t
  • N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP)                         +120 EUR/t
  • Gamma-Butyrolactone (GBL)                            +120 EUR/t

 

Polyalcohols are widely used in solvent-free coatings and for the production of polyurethanes, alkyd resins, unsaturated polyester resins and synthetic lubricants. BDO and its derivatives are used for producing engineering plastics, polyurethanes, solvents and elastic spandex or elastane fibers.
