Tec Mac: PU processing and recycling machines

Tec Mac S.r.l. produces machines and plants for plural-component chemicals such as polyurethane (both rigid, flexible and integral), epoxy and phenolic resins, polyurea, elastomers, silicone and similar materials, and exports more than 85 % of its production worldwide.

Among the new equipment to be exhibited at K 2010, three pieces of equipment are the most interesting. Ecobelt for the recycling of waste, Isoltec a high pressure machine, and Isolblock for the discontinuous production of polyurethane foam blocks.

The Ecobelt plant is capable of converting production waste materials such as flexible and rigid polyurethane foam, rubber, EVA, and similar material from granules into new products such as rebonded foam. This patented technology allows the reduction of binder down to 50 % thanks to an innovative glue dispensing system. The unit can be varied according to production needs and ranges from a standard unit to produce blocks through to continuous sheets, or carousel for the large scale production of moulded pieces.

One of the most reliable units is the high pressure machine Isoltec, according to Tec Mac. This unit is suitable to pour, spray or inject rigid or flexible polyurethane foam, polyurea, elastomers or similar chemicals and can be equipped with two different kinds of self cleaning mixing heads. With a wide range of output (from 8 – 300 g/s), it can be hydraulically or pneumatically operated.

Another interesting model is the batch block plant Isolblock. The plant is ideal for producing any kind of foam, using standard formulations (both MDI- and TDI-based), HR foams, CMHR foams, foams with filler, FR foams, HS foams, HL (high load) foams, viscoelastic foams, sponge structure foams, and latex. The equipment can produce up to 150 blocks in 8 h shift equating to more than 15 – 20 tonnes of polyurethane foam per day, says the company.

In addition, Tec Mac also produces low pressure machinery such as Polytec, the high pressure machine Puritec, and the Mix-Vr machine for casting.
