Purity Scanner ensures 100 % pellet inspection

Sikora has launched the Purity Scanner, a system for the 100 % online inspection and sorting of pellets. The intelligent application of X-ray technology with an optical system allows the detection of impurities of 50 µm. Contaminated pellets are reliably sorted out. The inspection allows the detection of organic and metallic contaminations inside the pellet as well as on the pellet surface, using a special combination of X-ray technology and an optical system. The company says the combination of both technologies is unique and is exceeding previous solutions on the market. Even non-transparent materials can be detected.

The Purity Scanner also features a novel transport system of the pellets within the device. During the inspection, the pellets are in a hermetically sealed channel. The material does not come in contact with ambient air and consequently absolute purity can be guaranteed. The device is designed for flow rates of 500, 1000 or 2000 kg/h.

The Purity Scanner is well-suited to inspect raw materials used for applications where 100 % purity is required, for example in the medical technology field, in the automotive industry, in aircraft manufacturing or in the production of high voltage and submarine cables.

X-Ray 6000 and X-Ray 6000 Pro for the continuous online measurement and control of the wall thickness, eccentricity and the inner/outer diameter of hose and tube extrusion lines. It is used for the measurements of single and multi-layer products with a diameter of 0.7 to 650 mm. The X-Ray 6000 Pro comes with an integrated 22” display and control system Ecocontrol 6000 for a continuous, automatic control of the line speed or the extruder rpm under consideration of nominal values. Hence, the system contributes to quality assurance, productivity and material savings in the production of hoses and tubes.

Laser Series 2000 and 6000 for high-speed diameter measurement and lump detection.

In addition to its successful diameter gauges of the classic-line Laser Series 2000, Sikora offers the top-line Laser Series 6000. These diameter measuring devices are specifically designed for sophisticated customer requirements. The gauges fulfill all needs regarding highest accuracy, a variety of interface connection options and reliability for quality control in hose and tube production. The high accuracy allows in addition the detection of lumps and neckdowns. Three gauges are available for different product diameters from 0.2 to 78 mm.

Moreover, Sikora presents the 2-axis and 3-axis lump detectors Lump 2000 XY and Lump 2000 T. In combination with a double sensor technology, punctual irregularities at the product surface are detected.
