APS Elastomers launches new TPU for injection moulding

APS Elastomers in Romulus, MI, USA, has developed a versatile thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) specifically formulated for injection moulding applications. The polyester-based TPU is said to exhibit good abrasion resistance and toughness, and has high hydrolytic stability, oil, fuel, and solvent resistance.

The new Zythane 4090A TPU is supplied uncoloured in pellet form. Its low temperature flexibility, colour retention, and fast cycle times make it a good choice for goggles, says APS Elastomers. These same qualities, in addition to creep resistance, rigidity/softness and adhesion allow it to be used in the production of soft sports cleats. Furthermore, the grade’s weather resistance, colour stability, resistance to farm chemicals, microbial resistance, fast moulding cycles, and printability, thermal stability and laser markability are the many benefits of using Zythane 4090A for animal ID tags.
