Excel launches CSM alternatives

Excel Polymers Inc. has introduced a new range of products as CSM alternatives.

The company says this fills the void created by DuPont Elastomers’ discontinuation of its Hypalon product line of chlorosulfonated polyethylene polymers. In cooperation with customers, Excel has developed specific non-CSM solutions for a number of applications, such as: high and low durometer extrusion profiles and moulded electrical connectors, moulded high temperature and oil resistant connectors, hydraulic hoses, and industrial roll coverings. According to the company, some of these new products have exhibited performance advantages over CSM-based compounds and are now available for sampling in North America, China, and India. In addition, Excel says to have access to a limited quantity of high quality CSM that can be used to develop products for critical applications.
