Polymax introduces high heat and overmoulding TPEs

At their first K show, the Chinese TPE compounder Nantong Polymax Elastomer Technology Co. Ltd. introduced a new high heat (150 °C) TPE.

The Maxelast grade is suited for automotive and other high temperature applications. With a Shore A hardness of 82, it offers users a product that is easy to process, and provides a finished product that is both esthetically pleasing and durable.

Polymax furthermore highlighted at K a line of polypropylene overmould or stand-alone TPEs. These products are currently in use on Toyota automobile seat belt housings and in several other automotive applications. The Maxelast P3885H grade is said to have an excellent tear strength and abrasion resistance and very good UV stability. It comes natural or coloured with a 85 Shore A hardness.

Polymax manufactures seven families of Maxelast TPEs at its headquarters in Nantong, near Shanghai. In North America, the company has a partnership with Alliance Polymers & Services in Romulus, MI. Polymax said that it is currently looking into building a new manufacturing site in North America.
