PolyOne unveils new USP Class VI certified colorants for healthcare

At MD&M West in Anaheim, PolyOne has launched OnColor HC Plus, a new line of USP Class VI colorants for the healthcare industry. The new, globally available palette of standard and custom colors is pre-certified to meet or exceed ISO 10993 and USP Class VI requirements in seven different medical grade resin carriers as well as liquid, with additional carriers pending.

John Van Hulle, president of PolyOne Global Color, Additives and Inks, explained, "This significant evolution of our OnColor HC offering reinforces our global commitment to the healthcare industry and our goal of providing value to our customers by helping them most effectively expand their business. For more than 30 years, we have worked closely with manufacturers globally in the healthcare industry. As a result we have a unique understanding of medical grade polymer colorant formulation and the stringent performance and regulatory specifications associated with healthcare products."

OnColor HC Plus colorants for healthcare products, specialized pharmaceutical products, and medical devices are formulated with ingredients that have passed USP Class VI protocol testing. Colorants with this pre-certification will be available globally in both solid and liquid form by Q2 2011.
