UNITED ARAB EMIRATES: Saudi-based Hala Group teams up with UAE’s ZAFCO

Saudi Arabia’s Hala Group has announced plans to expand its footprint in the tyre business by investing in UAE-based tyre distributor ZAFCO.

Hala Group represents brands such as global car rental company Avis, for which it was awarded exclusive agent in 1993. It is also active in the logistics industry through Naqel Express, a joint venture with Saudi Post. In addition, the company owns shares in other businesses like Saudi Fransi Bank.

Meanwhile, UAE’s ZAFCO is a global distributor of tyres, batteries and lubricants in over 80 countries, working with more than 800 distributors. The firm represents brands like Pirelli, Roadstone, Otani, Nitto, DoubleCoin, as well as its own brand, Zeetex.

Further details of the alliance between the two companies will follow shortly, ZAFCO said in a statement.
