BRAZIL: Cariflex boosting polyisoprene capacity
Cariflex said it will build a new large-scale polyisoprene latex plant at its facility in Paulinia, Brazil, to meet the current strong demand for medical protective equipment.
The project, estimated to cost approximately USD 50 million, will be identical to the current unit at the site and will double isoprene latex capacity there. Operations are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2021.
Daelim Industrial recently acquired the Cariflex isoprene rubber business from Kraton for USD 530 million.
