The Polyurethane Foam Association (PFA) has announced that Robert J. Luedeka, longtime Executive Director of the organisation, died on 31 March 2019 at the age of 69. Luedeka, whose career in the flexible polyurethane foam industry spanned more than four decades, became Executive Director of PFA in January 2005. This followed more than 25 years as an advertising agency executive working for industry clients, including Arco Chemical Company, Union Carbide, Foamex, NCFI Polyurethanes, the Flexible Foam Market Council, and PFA.

Professor Christian Hopmann, institute director of the IKV Institute for Plastics Processing in Industry and Craft at RWTH Aachen University, has been honoured as the newest "Fellows of SPE" at Antec 2019, the largest international technology conference. He was nominated by SPE’s Injection Moulding Division (IMD) and received the prestigious award by Dr. Brian Grady, president of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) on 17 March 2019 at Renaissance Center in Detroit, Michigan, USA.

Maysta International has announced the appointment of Kruno Muha as Business Manager EMEA, effective 23 March 2019. In this role, Kruno will be responsible for all Commercial and Technical Service aspects of the EMEA business including the establishment of Technical Service Laboratories and hiring sales and technology staff to support the business. Effective from 1 April 2019, Dr. Michael J. Ruf will take up the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the KraussMaffei Group. The COO is a newly created role within the Executive Committee, strengthening the company’s management team. The Executive Committee currently consists of CEO Frank Stieler, CFO Harald Nippel and the heads of the four business segments Injection Molding Machinery (IMM), Extrusion Technology (EXT), Reaction Process Machinery (RPM), and Digital Service Solutions (DSS).

Irina Zschaler has taken over responsibility as Chairman of the Board of the Georg Nordmann Holding AG (GNH). Since January 2019, she has been managing the GNH and its affiliated companies, Nordmann, Rassmann GmbH and Rowa Group Holding GmbH, in an operative matrix structure together with her colleague on the board, Marco Bröning. Doug Kramer has been named Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Icynene-Lapolla. He will also retain the title of President. Kramer succeeds former CEO Mark Sarvary, who has become Executive Chairman of Icynene-Lapolla. These changes were announced on 8 January 2019 and are effective immediately.
