Dr. Christian Przybyla will become Chairman of the Management Board of Eckart GmbH, based in Hartenstein near Nuremberg, Germany, on 1 March 2021, and will thus also take over the global management of Eckart, one of the four divisions of the speciality chemicals group Altana. He will succeed Dr. Wolfgang Schütt, who is leaving the company at his own request on 28 February 2021. In his new capacity, Przybyla, the current Chief Technology Officer of the Elantas division, will also become a member of Altana AG’s Executive Management Team.

The additives protect end products from bacterial infestation, growth of algae and mildew, material degradation, biofilms, pink stain, and odours caused by microbes. The next step in improving both tire performance and compound processing is the fundamental chemical redesign of the raw materials rubber and filler. Evonik announced that construction work on its largest investment to date – at more than EUR 400 million – is progressing well. The first plant at the site in Marl, Germany, was completed on schedule in mid-October 2020 and is currently being commissioned. Further plants will follow by Q1 2021, with full completion expected in H1 2021.

Repsol and Elix Polymers announced that they have signed a collaboration agreement to promote circular materials in products with high added value in sectors such as automotive, health, household appliances, building and construction, amongst others. Under the agreement, Repsol will supply circular styrene from chemical recycling, certified under the ISCC Plus scheme, which Elix Polymers will use to produce technical polymers, such as ABS and SAN.
