CPI publishes new guidance document for schools installing spray foam

Just in time for summer break, the Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) of the American Chemistry Council has released a new guidance document for school administrators and facilities managers about installing spray polyurethane foam (SPF) in schools. The document, “Guidance for Selecting a Contractor for the Installation of SPF in School Buildings,” is available free at CPI’s online resource library.

“Spray foam offers many excellent benefits to school facilities. It can help save on energy bills and create a comfortable indoor environment for education,” said Lee Salamone, Senior Director of CPI. “School administrators and facility managers can benefit from learning more about spray foam’s benefits, and our new guidance document can help them with a successful spray foam installation.”

This new guidance document is designed to help school administrators, design planners, facilities managers and others select and work with professional spray foam contractors to help achieve a successful spray foam installation. Offering general tips and guidance to help everyone involved in the process, this new document explores the benefits of spray foam and suggests steps to help a school achieve a successful SPF installation. According to CPI, this new resource can also be helpful for design professionals and energy service companies involved in roofing systems or insulation selection for school building projects.
