BioAmber and Brenntag sign distribution partnership for the Americas

The renewable chemicals company BioAmber Inc. has partnered with Brenntag for distribution of its Bio-SA bio-based succinic acid and derivatives, including bio-based 1,4-butanediol (BDO), in the Americas.

BioAmber is currently supplying commercial Bio-SA from a European production facility, however, with growing market demand for its bio-based chemicals, the company is expanding capacity in 2014 in Sarnia, Canada, with a 30,000 t plant to serve the North American and other markets. Bio-SA can serve as a building block chemical in a range of applications including PU, unsaturated polyesters, coating resins, flavours, lubricants, plasticisers, deicers, and solvents. Headquartered in Mülheim/Ruhr, Germany, Brenntag operates a global network with more than 450 locations in more than 70 countries.
