Raw materials for the coating and resin industry

At the European Coatings Show from 19 – 21 March 2013 in Nuremberg, Germany, Perstorp will be presenting its raw materials for coating applications with focus on new waterborne and high solids PU solutions, UV-curing solutions, and renewables.

Among others, Perstorp will highlight its Capa caprolactones technology. A research cooperation with CTC Groupe has led to new caprolactone-based PUD top coats for leather that will be demonstrated at ECS. Other caprolactone developments include 2K-PU and amino-cured systems for marine, aerospace, and wind power applications.

Furthermore, the renewable pentaerythritol Voxtar will be presented, which can replace fossil-based raw materials in existing processes. The product is said reduce the carbon footprint by up to 75 % without reducing performance. According to Perstorp, demand has led the company to broaden the Voxtar offer, which will be presented at ECS.

Perstorp will also showcase non-ionically stabilised PUD’s for waterborne resins using its Ymer technology. The Ymer resin dispersion technology facilitates solvent-free, long lasting PUD’s and enables reductions in emissions.
