TRI to acquire automotive anti-vibration systems manufacturer Anvis
At the signing ceremony in Frankfurt/Main, Germany: Yoshiaki Nishimura, TRI President (right), and Olaf Hahn, Anvis Group CEO (left).
The Anvis Group is a successor company of Woco Michelin AVS GmbH, founded in the year 2000 as a joint venture between Woco and Michelin. The company’s product range includes chassis components, aggregate storage, exhaust system hangers as well as decoupling elements, and mass dampers. Apart from the automobile industry (e. g. Volkswagen, Renault, Peugeot/Citroën, Daimler, and Ford), Anvis Group’s customers include the railway industry and other industrial sectors where oscillation and noise reduction systems are used. With approximately 2,000 employees at 13 locations in 11 countries, the company had 2011 sales of EUR 305 million.
Leveraging Anvis’ technology for small/compact to mid-sized cars, manufacturing facilities in Europe, and strong relationship with European OEMs, TRI aims to accelerate an establishment of global supply capabilities to serve Japanese customers and to further expand its non-Japanese customer base. TRI already has a manufacturing subsidiary in Poland from which it supplies AVS products to its Japanese customers in Europe. In addition, the company has recently announced the acquisition of Dytech-Dynamic Fluid Technologies S.p.A., an Italian manufacturer of automotive hoses.
