Preparatory phase for Reifen 2014 goes into full swing

According to the organiser, Messe Essen GmbH, at the moment, 660 exhibitors from 44 countries have applied. Around 70 % of the exhibitors are coming to Essen from outside Germany – from Europe, Asia, Africa and America. The countries with the most exhibitors are China, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and the USA. In addition, Messe Essen is expecting approximately 19,000 trade visitors from 130 countries all over the world.

Visitors can look forward to a comprehensive overview of the market from 27 – 30 May 2014. According to the organiser, as the only trade fair of this industry, the Reifen covers the entire value-added chain of the tyre: from the preliminary production stage, actual manufacturing and trade to retreading and recycling. The exhibitors include the 20 largest tyre manufacturers and all important rim producers. Numerous companies have announced they will be presenting innovations and premieres at the fair. One focal point will be tyre pressure monitoring systems; the European Union has prescribed their use by law for all new vehicles with effect from 1 November 2014.

One of the highlights of this year's trade show will be the “Innovation Awards 2014”, awarded for the fifth time by Messe Essen and the Federal Association of the Tyre Trade and the Vulcanisers' Skilled Trade (Bundesverband Reifenhandel und Vulkaniseur-Handwerk – BRV). The prizes will be presented on 26 May 2014 during the festive opening of the trade show. In 2014, the “Oscar” of the tyre sector will encompass four categories for the first time: technique and products; services/service concepts, process optimisation; environment and resource conservation; automotive service.

RubberTech Europe, the new European trade fair relating to the stage before the tyre production, will be held parallel to the tyre exhibition Reifen. Messe Essen GmbH and the China United Rubber Corporation (CURC) are the organisers. The exhibition portfolio of RubberTech Europe will include rubber chemicals and raw materials as well as testing machines and mechanical equipment for the tyre industry.
