Teknor Apex’ Asian activities with new name
"Combining all of our operations under the Teknor Apex brand represents the culmination of a decade-long process of integration that has created one company in fact - not just in name," said Tan. "Whether our customers are based in Saudi Arabia, India, China, or Australia, they now have the assurance of dealing with a single organization having uniform standards, product designations, business practices, and regulatory approvals."
Teknor Apex at Chinaplas
At Chinaplas 2011, Teknor Apex Asia Pacific will exhibit at booth 10.2A11, originally listed under the SPC name. Besides the introduction of the new name, another highlight of the company's exhibit will be the first trade-show appearance of the Sarlink thermoplastic vulcanizate elastomer business since its acquisition in November by Teknor Apex. Sarlink compounds are well established in the Asian automotive market, with sales directed from an office in Shanghai.
Teknor Apex Asia Pacific is one of the region's leading custom compounders and offers its most diversified range of products, according to Tan. These include rigid and flexible vinyl, TPEs, nylons, filled polyolefins, conductive compounds, black and white masterbatches, and compounds produced on a tolling basis. In addition to the products developed by SPC since its founding in 1969, Teknor Apex Asia Pacific offers thousands of compounds that were developed in the US by Teknor Apex and are compliant with Western codes and standards.
In 2004, SPC completed relocation of its entire compounding operation to a new Singapore complex, comprising a series of production lines with annual capacity exceeding 50,000 tons.
Plans for TPE production in Suzhou
Teknor Apex' new plant in Suzhou started production in 2007. Currently it produces vinyl compounds for the China market, but it is expected to yield other types of compound such as TPEs.
Teknor Apex Asia Pacific has sales offices in Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, and China. The China offices are located in Shanghai and Shenzhen. The company plans to open additional sales offices in India, Japan, and Taiwan, according to Tan.
