PU China 2010 preview: Evonik

Evonik's business line Polyurethane Additives has been marketing its products in China for more than 30 years. It offers a whole range of additives for the manufacturing of PU foams, including Tegostab silicone stabilisers, Tegoamin amine catalysts, Kosmos metal catalysts, Gorapur release agents, Tegocolor pigments, and Ortegol special additives.

During the exhibition, Evonik will introduce its most recent product innovations:

TegostabB8180 is a highly active foam stabiliser for very low density PU foam with improved cell structure. Ortegol76 is an effective silicone-based cell opener with very low contribution to VOCs, designed for the manufacturing of TDI-80-based viscoelastic foam.

In addition, Evonik will showcase the four new Tegostab grades B8544, B8545, B8546 and B8547 for rigid foam applications including hydrocarbon- and HFC-blown formulations.

Furthermore, Evonik will introduce Tegostab B8742LF2 for moulded foam applications, that meet latest VOC-requirements. This product has been proven to reduce transmissivity of vibrations through HR TDI or TM20 seating foam. This reduction is critical in improving passenger dynamic comfort. Easy foam crushability and wide processing latitude are maintained.

OrtegolAST8 is an active additive used for the production of microcellular PU materials with an increased conductivity and hence improved antistatic properties.

Evonik also provides Gorapur release agents of its affiliate Gorapur from Wittenburg, Germany, to the Chinese market, offering products for the HR-moulded (automotive) market, as well as for the shoe sole industry and other microcellular PU applications.
