Engel Machinery Korea delivers 5,000th machine

The 5,000th injection moulding machine by Engel Machinery Korea will be producing technical parts at Flextronics in Malaysia.

5,000 injection moulding machines have been built by Engel Austria’s production facility in South Korea since being established in the year 2001.

At the beginning of 2014, the “milestone” machine – a tie-bar-less victory with ecodrive energy-saving technology – was delivered to Flextronics, an end-to-end supply chain solutions company that employs a staff of 200,000 people in more than 30 countries. According to the machine manufacturer, Engel Machinery Korea has thus far delivered nearly 400 injection moulding machines and integrated manufacturing cells with automation and process technology to Flextronics. The new victory machine is destined for the company’s site in Malaysia.

Engel Austria operates two production plants in Asia. Its plant for injection moulding machines in the small and medium clamping force segment is located in Pyungtaek City, South Korea, while the company builds large-scale machines for the Asian markets in Shanghai, China. In November 2013, Engel Machinery Korea won the prestigious “Korea National Quality Award” in the field of production innovation.
