SAUDI ARABIA: Satorp’s production expected to reach full capacity by mid-year, says Total
The venture, in which Saudi Aramco holds 62.5 %, last year started operations at its USD 12.8-billion complex in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The project includes a 400,000-b/d full conversion refinery with 200,000 t/y of polymer-grade propylene capacity.
“All the refining and petrochemicals units should be operational by the end of first quarter 2014,” said the filing dated 27 Mar. 2014.
“Production is expected to reach full capacity around mid-2014.”
Under a five year agreement that took effect 1 Jan. 2014, Satorp will supply 80,000 t/y of the propylene to Advanced Petrochemical Co. to support an increase in Advanced’s production of polypropylene at its 450,000-t/y plant in Jubail.
