Successful premiere of NRC PUR Day 2014

From the 27 – 28 March 2014, over 100 participants came together for the first NRC PUR Day in order to hear interesting trade presentations, exchange ideas, and to look beyond standard horizons to other fields of applications.

“Above all, our NRC PUR Day allowed for the opportunity of making and maintaining important business contacts”, remarked Carsten Güntner, member of the NRC managing board. Being held in the KAI10's floating conference room along one of Hamburg's famous loading canals also provided a unique atmosphere at the event.

For the guests of the various polyurethane manufacturing sectors, Güntner opened the day's series of talks. Afterwards, Dr. Hans W. Schloz of the German Specialist Association of Foamed Plastics and Polyurethanes (FSK) held an informative lecture on the diverse fields of polyurethane, as well as on current challenges and future trends.

Besides NRC, its long-standing partners Albemarle Europe Sprl., BorsodChem Zrt., Kamin LLC, Perstorp and Shell Chemicals Europe B. V. also gave comprehensive presentations concerning the broad range of polyurethane raw materials and updating listeners on the latest trends and developments. In addition to the talks, attendees were also given ample opportunity for in-depth discussions with the lecturers and experts from NRC. The first day's proceedings were concluded with an evening outing of a special kind: a sunset boat trip through the port of Hamburg.

“The large number of participants at this event proved that there is great customer interest in these types of platforms for professional exchange. The very positive feedback we received from the participants shows us, that the idea was a full and complete success”, said Dr. Björn Henninger, Business Manager for Polyurethane.

Thanks to the very successful premiere of the NRC PUR-Day, NRC is planning to continue with this event on a regular basis.
