IRAN: Tehran attributes easing of pc sanctions for boost in production and exports

Iranian petrochemical production and exports have increased considerably in recent months as sanctions against Iran have been eased by the progress in talks between Iran and the U.S., Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany, the Fars News Agency reported.

“The production of petrochemical products has increased by 6.5 % and their exports volume has increased by 6 % in the first three months of the current Iranian year,” said Mohammad Hassan Peyvandi, president of Iran’s National Petrochemical Co.

In the year ending 20 Mar. 2014, Iran produced over 40-million tons of petrochemicals and exported petrochemicals valued at USD 9-billion, he noted.
