JSR expects to re-start EPR production in Kashima not before 20 May

JSR Corporation has published a report of the current status of its business operations at Japanese sites: The company said that in regards to EP rubber at the Kashima plant (Kamisu City, Ibaraki) which had a tight demand and supply balance even before the earthquake happened, there was an announcement from the main raw material supplier that the production will be resumed around 20 May.

Supplies of utilities, such as steam, were resumed operation and JSR started partial production by utilizing raw materials from the inventory The manufacturing facilities at the Chiba Plant are under normal operations. JSR expects that the production of performance chemicals will be back to normal conditions in late April. This process has been slowed down due to supply limitations of raw materials.)
