Sub-Saharan African Market for Polyurethane
A new report published as a PDF set of PowerPoint slides is now available from Frost & Sullivan. It reviews the opportunities for polyurethane in various applications across sub-Saharan African countries. Increased buying power is forecast to boost the demand for PU foams in bedding and furniture applications. In addition, polyurethanes’ use as a wood and rubber substitute. The report finds that the sector earned revenues of USD 545.6 million in 2009 and estimates this will reach USD 694.7 million in 2016.
The report analyses TDI and MDI-based technologies and applications in bedding and furniture, automotive, refrigerators and freezers, footwear, construction, coatings, adhesives, and sealants. The report also discusses the impact of rising raw materials prices and resulting demand for low cost imports from these markets, especially in the footwear sector. The report reviews opportunities for PU in South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, and Uganda.
