New Head of R&D at Rampf Giessharze

Effective 1 March 2011, Stefan Retig, 41, has taken over as new Head of Research and Development at the German company Rampf Giessharze GmbH & Co. KG in Grafenberg. He takes over from Dr. Peter Gräter, who has left the company.

Retig has worked in the field of plastics for the past 15 years. The chemical engineering graduate has gathered professional experience in a variety of companies in the chemical industry, including Sika Deutschland GmbH. He has been with Rampf Giessharze since 2003 – most recently as Head of Laboratory for the Foam Gaskets Division. In his new role, he will be working towards expanding the company's position in the fields of PU, silicone and epoxy.

Over the next two years, he aims to increase the use of biopolyols made of natural oils such as rapeseed and soya oil, while also researching into other alternatives. Retig also looks forward to extending the spectrum of properties of the company's foam gaskets, adhesives, casting systems, and electric casting resins to produce a new generation of materials engineered specifically to make a mark in the wind power, solar power, and hybrid vehicle sectors.
