New TPEs from Elastron for medical applications
The materials can be used for syringe tips, infusion stoppers, gaskets, drip chambers, dropper bulbs, resuscitator pumps, and in general for medical devices with soft touch. They have comprehensive medical approvals according to USP class VI, are UV/ozone resistant, and can be sterilised by either ethylene oxide or steam.
Elastron manufactures TPE compounds based on SEBS, EPDM/PP and SBS for a variety of industry sectors. The company, based in Gebze, Turkey, has been founded in 1980. Annual TPE capacity is 25,000 t.
