Kraiburg Rubber Suzhou invests in latest straining and pelletising equipment
It consist of a combination of extruder and gear pump (Combex 150) to ensure a mild and gentle extrusion at comparably low temperature with low air inclusion to avoid scorch and air bubbles in final goods. The extruder line is connected to a batch-off cooling line which provides for a fast cooling of the extruded strip and an effective drying after treatment with anti-tack solution. It is possible to obtain strained material using filters down to 60 mµ (230 mesh). With this new equipment KRS is further increasing extrusion and straining capacity to serve the market in Asia with ultra-clean compounds.
A new pelletiser rounds up the investments at the facility in Suzhou. Via computer controlled extrusion and cutting speed the weight tolerances can be kept in a very small range: The final pellet weight is monitored and cutting and/or extrusion speed adjusted accordingly. The whole process is computer controlled, i. e. once parameters are set for one specific compound this set of data can easily be accessed. A wide variety of compounds from very soft to hard (25-90 ShA) can be processed, and also a wide range of polymers can be covered, like e. g. EPDM, NR, CR, NBR, FKM, etc.
