Altana on expansion course in Italy and China

Elantas Electrical Insulation, an Altana division, has acquired the casting resins business for electrical and electronic applications of the Italian Marbo group. Elantas said that it mainly takes over Marbo’s customers and know-how. The production will be incorporated into Elantas Italia’s facilities in Collecchio.

Furthermore, Elantas has agreed to acquire the business with tris-2-hydroxyethyl isocyanurate (THEIC) of Chinese company Changzhou Lantian Ruiqi Chemical Co., Ltd. Elantas will take over the company’s production facilities in Changzhou, its technology and employees. The transaction is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2012. Financial details were not disclosed. Elantas plans to continue the acquired business under the name of Elantas Changzhou Ltd. and to expand the capacity of the plant.
