Obituary for Frank Ananda Sree Prosad Gupta

A chemistry graduate from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, he and his father founded a publishing house in 1994, initially publishing a technical magazine for the rubber industry. He started work as the Technical Editor, responsible for layout and production which he learned at a local printing house, he later developed the entire skill set to run the publishing house.

Since 2001, he has worked tirelessly to improve and promote the PU family of magazines produced by the Gupta Verlag family publishing house. Available in three languages, the magazines and website now set the industry standard. They will continue to be published.

Frank had a great natural ability to connect with everyone he came into contact with. Throughout his life he met a great number of people from all walks of life and wherever he travelled in the world, people were touched by his charm, wit and his honest opinions. He also took great pleasure and effort in writing his thought-provoking editorials.

His trade mark cream suit, which he wore to be easily recognised (despite being 1.96 m tall, dark and handsome), and ear ring will be missed within the entire industry. He was never afraid to be different and he will remain truly memorable.

As a chemist he knew that we all re-join the carbon cycle and that “life is always fatal!” His final regret was that at 48, he was too old to die young!

After a short fight against cancer, Frank died peacefully, at home with family at his side.
