Yule Catto to acquire PolymerLatex

Yule Catto & Co. plc has entered into a purchase agreement for PolymerLatex GmbH, a manufacturer of synthetic latex based in Marl, Germany, with TowerBrook Capital Partners LLP.

PolymerLatex has about 600 employees and generated sales of EUR 387 million in 2009. The transaction is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2011. The financial terms were not disclosed.

Yule Catto is already the owner of the polymers business of Synthomer, and this acquisition will bring together two established companies with a total turnover of GBP 800 million and more than 2,000 employees.

Synthomer and PolymerLatex are suppliers of emulsion polymers used for the production of a wide range of products including paints and coatings, adhesives, construction products, gloves, paper, textiles as well as flooring materials and PVC.
